Chasing Sunsets: Harden Moor

Chasing Sunsets Hike & Trail Run

Our Chasing Sunsets events are designed to explore places that provide a suitable view of the setting sun - typically, these routes will be up hills and in moorland areas. 

Each route will cover a distance of approximately 4 miles - however, the emphasis is less on the distance and more on the laughs, the social experience, and opportunity to capture some awesome photographs! 

Hikers are Runners start at the same locations, but head out on the routes in opposite directions, passing each other along the route for a group photo opportunity (hopefully with the setting sun in the background!)

Led by a qualified Hill and Moorland team with a wealth of experience and expertise.

Leave the planning and navigation to us and just enjoy venturing out into open to enjoy the view of an incredible sunset with awesome company.

• May 8th: Cheetham Close trig point from Entwistle Reservoir

• May 15th: Singing Ringing Tree

All of these routes are circular. Starting points for each month will be emailed to participants before the event and shared on the member's .Facebook group

Kit requirements:

Specific details and requirements for each Chasing Sunsets event will be emailed prior to the date however, for the the majority of events, it maybe requested that you bring the following:

• Waterproof jacket

• Spare warm layer

• Fully charged mobile phone, with OS Maps or OS Locate app installed

• Suitable trail shoes or boots

• Personal snacks and drink

This will include the link to the intended route; meeting location; and specific requirements for that event.
